This year’s vacation in the Thousand Islands was a little bit less enjoyable than previous years. It wasn’t terrible, but the stress levels and tension between people in the house was definitely a bit stronger. I think it was mainly because the house’s capacity was eight and at one point, we had about twelve people. My parents had to kick out Russell and Brandon to make room for Aaron’s family, and that sort of put a damper on everybody’s mood.
I can hardly even consider the entire trip a real vacation, considering how fast it seemed to go by. It was like, one second we were arriving and the next second, it’s a week later and we’re leaving. I blame it partially on being lazy and just lying around in my pajamas a lot of the time. Between coming and going, I did manage to fit two mini-photoshoots in and some shopping in Kingston. I spent way more than I should have on only three pieces of clothing at American Apparel. I think it was worth it, though. Considering that I’m not going to be in New York until next month and bright neon t-shirts are SO cool. The pink pants I got did get a run in them after like two days of wearing, so that sort of pissed me off. Because they came to be about $40 since the exchange rate sucks right now.
Along with the pants, a whole lot of other things seemed to go wrong for me, as well. Especially on the last few days there. For about three days, I had basically the worst indigestion of my life. I think it’s because of the water up there. It just doesn’t agree with my system. It’s really the worst feeling in the world where all you want to do is poop your brains out but when you try, there is absolutely nothing there to get rid of. It was basically just terrible, awful cramps.
Then, on the last day there, my camera decides that it wants to make my life even harder and it refuses to accept the camera’s transfer cable into it’s little port thingy. Katie and I had to drive an hour to Best Buy just to get a card reader so I could transfer all of my photos. I blame Russell. He’s bad luck around cameras. Every time I try to take pictures of him, something terrible happens to my cameras. At least this time, I didn’t have to buy a new one.
Alright. Enough with that series of complaints. It wasn’t horrible the entire time. On with the photos! To see the album from the entire vacation, click here. To see the slideshow of Katie’s photoshoot, click here. To see the slideshow of Lena’s photoshoot, click here.
