Okay. Cool idea. Remember e-mail? You know how nobody ever sends you any of it anymore? Or at least not the kind you want to get. It’s usually just some garbage from shopping sites that send you mail because you clicked “yes, send me updates about upcoming offers” on the way to the checkout. That’s now how e-mail should be. It should be romantic and friendly, like in You’ve Got Mail. -I’m sorry, I love that movie.- But lately, that’s not been happening. Lately people have just been instant messaging and the only e-mails that people get are little blurbs about “meet me here” or “I know who you are.” Things like that.
So. I thought…. You know blogs? And you know how they’re all on web sites and stuff? Well. What if instead of being on a website, they’d be in e-mails? Sound weird? This is how it would work:
A person makes a website. On the main page there is a link for you to be added to the person’s e-mailing list. Then, once you’re added, you receive blog updates not through the person’s website, but by e-mail. And, no, this is just a blog update notification service. The blog would be only through e-mails, except the past archives which would be located on the site.
I think this would be really cool so that people get longer e-mails that are actually worth reading. Or it might just be me.

Sounds like a great idea, especially as I’m deleting 4 new junk messages…
An interesting approach, to be sure. Have you ever checked out Yahoo! Groups? You could use one of them to do essentially the same thing, sending emails out to all the members.
It’s called a newsletter, Max.
