Don’t let design affect your judgement.

I haven’t really been blogging lately. Probably because I expected to have my new room done by now and to have a post written about that. But the new room is not yet complete, so I don’t want to get pictures of it up, yet. I can tell you that it might be one of the most unprivate room ever…. at least in countries where people usually have separate rooms and don’t live in caves. It’s a very open space that can basically be accessed by anybody just by going upstairs in our house. There is no door.

Anybody reading this would probably be wondering why on earth I would ever, ever, EVER move into a room that didn’t have a door, much less a wall. Well, in case you didn’t know already, I am a huge neat freak. So much of a neat freak that when my father -being the anti-neat freak that he is- put up a horrible shower curtain in his office to make it so nobody could see his mess, I literally got into my knees and begged to switch rooms with him. So now, my father is in my old, nice, tiny, little, old, cute, old room, and I am in his still tiny, unprivate, tiny, tiny, tiny, old office.

Now, about the whole no-wall thing. I was somewhat inspired by my father’s putting up of a shower curtain in his room- even if the shower curtain was hideous and covered in glittery spirals, and should only be used in a bathroom. I went to the fabric store and bought some really nice green fabric to make two giant curtain panels. Once completed, the curtains should look like theater curtains, and my room should look like a stage. At least that’s what I’m hoping….
