I found another blog on typepad that has knitting on it. I wonder what it is with this sudden knitting popularity. Over the past few days, perhaps it was at a dinner party, this topic came up. It was not about knitting only, it was about things that used to be considered “lower class” and now since they have become so unpopular, they are actually now used as a sort of class or status symbol for those who can afford time and money to do such things. Things like knitting and using candles instead of regular electric lights are some things that used to be considered low class and are now more of an upper class thing. Interesting.
I suppose knitting can also be a sort of escape or meditation. Soothing, I suppose. I might like to take up knitting. I remember liking to sew things with my antique sewing machine before it broke. I don’t really know how to knit. Maybe there’s a book on it. Sounds interesting, though.

Go for it, take up knitting. It is very meditative. There are a ton of knitting how to books out there. The most popular ones are “Stich and Bitch” (very hip projects), and “The Knit Stitch”.
