Hey, y’all!

I find few things more tedious than writing about pages, so I’m sorry in advance if this is boring. My name is Maxwell Tielman. I’m 22. I was born and raised in the charming and incredibly under-appreciated city of Buffalo, New York. I currently live in Brooklyn, New York.

I’m in my fifth year at Pratt Institute where I’ve been studying Photography and The History of Art and Design. In the fall, I will be attending graduate school in the History of Decorative Arts and Design.

I started this blog in December 2003 when I was fifteen. Back then, it functioned mostly as a daily chronicle of my life as an emo high school student with OCD. Nowadays, I mostly post pictures of buildings, my friends, and my apartment. EXCITING.

A little bit about this blog’s title:

Maxigumee is pronounced “Max-ih-goo-mee.”

When I was a little kid, my father told me a bedtime story involving a Native American boy named Maxigumee. Maxigumee lived in a hollowed out tree, would go on adventures through the forest with all of his animal friends, and was generally all-around politically incorrect.
